Makes 4 decent sized patties.

Success:

Great, but I think I would add some lemon zest and juice into the next mixture.

Ingredients

500g lean beef mince
1 tbsp Sami's Kitchen Shawarma Spice Blend
1 med chopped onion
1 tsp chilli powder (optional)
1/2 cup wholemeal breadcrumbs (store bought or make sure bread is a bit on the stale side if making your own)
1 egg
feta chunks (as much or little as you like, make sure 'chunks' are a decent size)

Directions

1
Mix all ingredients together, crumbling feta in at the very end so feta pieces remain a decent size. With wet hands form mixture into burger patties (about 2cm thick).
2
Heat oil in a fry pan (or on BBQ), add patties and brown evenly on both sides. Cover, lower heat slightly and cook for several minutes until patties are cooked through but not overcooked.
3
4
Build burgers with your choice of ingredients. We used baby spinach, cucumber, tomato, avocado and egg plus sauces
5
Other alternatives, substitute egg and cucumber for yoghurt, mint, cucumber sauce or for the ultimate burger add a Falafel pattie (use Sami's Kitchen Falafel mix to make your own or buy a store bought mixture) and hummus.
